Who Am I ?

I am a surrealist artist who works primarily in oil paint. My work explores themes of deep introspection and emotional intensity. I have these moments of unexplained attunement to specific sensations, and an overwhelming, immediate urge to respond. Every painting I create is a small piece of myself.

For years I wanted to be a photographer. I was drawn to crowded public spaces, where I could quietly observe and capture candid moments of people I would likely never see again. That practice of noticing, of interpreting unspoken narratives through my eyes, continues to shape my work.

On my nineteenth birthday, my parents bought me a set of oil paints. I realized that painting allowed me to engage with those moments more fully and bend them in a strange direction that felt more authentic. I could slow time, deepen sensation, and respond intuitively rather than instantaneously. I could more accurately describe the liminal aspect of a feeling by exaggerating the physical.

Through my work, I invite people to sit with intensity, ambiguity, and reflection, and to consider the quiet yet powerful emotions that exist beneath the surface of everyday experience.
